AMATIQUE BAY KAYAKING AND LIVINGSTON

ON THIS TOUR YOU WILL:

We first depart from the cruise terminal in a certified boat to amatique bay, and take a quick boat ride along with beautiful views of a sea shore lineup with mangroves and beautiful rock formations. Enjoy the variety of birds the Caribbean has to offer  over 360 species such as seagulls, pelicans, knights, great egrets and other bird species of the region as well as some migratory ones; you will also see the fishermen going about their daily activities, while enjoying the view of the tropical rain forest.

At amatique bay green cove, you will board your kayak and follow your tour guide as you paddle along the shoreline, through spectacular mangrove channels. A feeling of easiness will overtake, you as you contemplate the natural reserve of Cerro San Gil full of vegetation and jungle sounds. Its a natural reserve which had been deforested but as of 2003 Funda Eco came to Guatemala to help us reforested. You can watch the friggid birds soar above you as you approach their natural nesting grounds.

Afterwards you will board the boat that will take you to the picturesque town of Livingston  where the Garifuna People settled(african and black caribes). There you will make another stop at Posada El Delfin where you can use the restrooms and delight yourself with a light lunch over-looking the Caribbean Sea and Rio Dulce(Sweet River). After lunch we will resume with a tour through the town learning of their rich history and and their customs. After this we will board the boat and head back to the cruise terminal.

REVIEWS

Trip started with an amazing boat ride to Livingston where we stopped for water and fruit. Boat ride on to our kayak pick up point. We kayaked down the river with stunning views, it was also so peaceful. Before lunch we ended up doing some zip lines. We can’t thank Gus and the team enough. This was a fantastic trip and great value for the price. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough.
