PACAYA VOLCANO

ON THIS TOUR YOU WILL:

Accompanied by our bilingual and local tour guides, we hike to the volcano’s highest accessible point.  The height of Pacaya stands at 2,552 meters; the views from here are breathtaking.   The Central American Volcanic Arc - a chain of volcanoes stretching from the northwest to the southeast are visible here.

At times Pacaya can be active and we may see areas of live lava. Though we will always stay at a safe distance, it is strongly recommended you wear closed hiking footwear, long pants and a light sweater or jacket.

Descending from Pacaya, we will enjoy an authentic snack at a local well-known restaurant.

Note: For the climb we will provide an additional registered authorized local tour guide who lives in the volcano’s village.

REVIEWS

The trail was fantastic. After being on a cruise ship for a week, it was nice to walk and experience some very unique countryside. And the Lava Store in the actual crater isn't to be missed. I definitely want to come back to Guatemala and hike some of the other volcanos. And when I do, I'll contact Gus again.
