HUMANITARIAN TOUR TO THE AMBERA INDIAN VILLAGE

ON THIS TOUR YOU WILL:

The Emberá people mostly live in the Chocó region of western Colombia and in Panama. For the Panamanian Emberá, the Chocó and its river systems remain their ancestral homelands and the different dialects of the Emberá language still correspond to different parts of that area and its river systems.

Start this tour at the port with a drive to a local school to share some time with primary school children. A guide will accompany you the whole time while en route and he/she will share the history of the Embera’s indigenous people.

At the school, tourists can interact with the kids who greet them by singing songs that will melt your heart. Here, you can share some time with the kids to make their lives happier by donating gifts that improve their learning and education.

After the school our guide takes you to the Emberá Village. There, you are taken upriver, on small boats to the villages, where you can interact with the natives of the area and participate in their dances and rituals; also, a small lunch will be served, so you can enjoy your time in the village and purchase handcrafts and souvenirs.

Finally, relax at the botanical garden having a wonderful time learning about the Panamanian Flora which is one the most diverse in the world and enjoy the pristine waters of Gatun Lake.
