CHOCOLATE TOUR

ON THIS TOUR YOU WILL:

Cocoa contains natural substances that stimulate the production of endorphins that can give one an immediate sensation of relaxation, calmness and happiness. On this unique tour, you will experience sustainability as we witness the rescue of an ancient Mayan tradition.

Departing from the terminal of Santo Tomás,you will enjoy the road’s landscape full of green vegetation and hills with cattle ranches. We will make  our first stop at a place where one can appreciate how sap is removed from bubblegum trees.

After we enter the cocoa plantation, we will pass over a river of crystalline waters until we reach the grounds of the Cacao Factory. There we will enjoy a cup of chocolate (considered to be the drink of Mayan Gods !) You will explore the plantation with your tour guide who will explain the importance of the Cacao fruit to the Mayan civilization. During your free time enjoy a swim in one of the cool crystalline pools of the river. On the riverbank one can find thousands of small colored stones, a treasure for collectors!

During the entire tour you will be accompanied by our tour guide who will tell you tales of the first European man to discover the cocoa plant, and observe how chocolate is made in a small ceremony. At the end of our tour don’t forget to indulge! You’ll have the chance to buy cacao and chocolate products to eat later or bring a piece of heaven home!
